Description

Up for auction is a nice, clean copy of the Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers album "At The Jazz Corner Of The World, Volume 2" released on Blue Note Records (BLP 4016) in 1959.  This is an authentic, original mono, deep groove first pressing with "RVG" and Playstilite "Ears" stamped in the run-out.  Correct and matching 47 West 63rd, NYC deep groove labels.
The cover is in really nice condition.  Lamination retains its original high gloss finish, to real signs of rubbing loss or dulling, no ring wear.  Lamination is nice, no bubbling, lifting, tears or creases.  Corners are sharp, no bumps, no creasing.  Seams are strong, intact, no cracks, no rubbing, no splits, no chips.  Back cover is nice bone white with only a small hint of aging.  Small stain upper right and middle left in text (see photos), but hardly a detraction from the overall attractiveness.  I'd grade this cover Near Mint Minus (NM-).
The vinyl is equally as nice as the cover.  Very well-preserved and taken care of.  No real scratches, scuffs or marks to speak of outside of very faint and superficial signs of having been taken in and out of the paper sleeve.  Retains its original gloss shine on both sides.  No marks around the spindle holes, indicating very little previous handling or play.  One tiny pencil tip size mark Side One, track 3 that does not affect play whatsoever.  Does have a very innocuous, slight warp on first track, but it's really quite minor and does not affect the play back in any way.  Play tested, and this record sounds strong, with full-bodied mono sound, quiet when it should be, loud and strong other times.  Very enjoyable sound quality, with little to distract you from the music.  I'd grade the vinyl Near Mint Minus/Excellent Plus (NM-/EX+).
