ART PEPPER + ELEVEN "MODERN JAZZ CLASSICS" LP - Contemporary #LAC 12229.  Original FIRST PRESS 1959 Mono U.K. release with the Deep Groove yellow label.  The personnel: Marty Paich/arranger, conductor; Art Pepper/sax & clarinet; Pete Candoli, Jack Sheldon, Al Porcino/trumpets; Herb Geller, Bud Shank, Charlie Kennedy/alto saxes; Bill Perkins, Richie Kamuca, Bob Enevoldsen/tenor saxes; Med Flory/baritone sax; Dick Nash, Bob Enevoldsen/trombone; Vince De Rosa/French horn; Harry Klein/baritone sax; Russ Freeman/piano; Joe Mondragon/bass; Mel Lewis/drums.  The vinyl is in EX+ condition (beautiful sheen) and plays absolutely great!!  The laminated cardboard cover is in lovely shape: bright and clean with only very slight signs of handling.  NO seam splits of any kind, NO cut-out marks of any kind.  The front cover graphics are particularly striking.  The songs are:  Move; Groovin' High; Opus De Funk; 'Round Midnight; Four Brothers; Shawnuff; Bernie's Tune; Walkin' Shoes; Anthropology; Airegin; Walkin'; Donna Lee.
