Here is a excellent rare 1971/72 German island pink rim copy of this superb 1967 uk heavy psych-rock album. The original uk pink island issue is now getting near impossible to find and so it now sells for a few hundred pounds in excellent condition, this rare early 70's German pink rim issue is in excellent condition. The double laminated cover is also in excellent condition.
Issued only a few years after the first production run and not to be confused with the reissue or bootleg release of the same, If you can't find or afford the expensive 1968 UK original, get this, it's nearing extinction...

ART'S 'Supernatural Fairy Tales' album is late 60's uk heavy psych at it's very best. Every track is simply superb, there are no throw-away light-weight pop-sike tunes on this album. 'Supernatural Fairy Tales' is a real heavy psych-freakbeat gem that will definitely not disappoint the fan of such music.

"Supernatural Fairy Tale" is NOT a flowery UK mod-squad popsike album, though it does contain psych influences, as well as one all-out psychedelic cut, in the title track. Rather, this is mostly fairly heavy hard rock, with a few blues numbers here and there. The album definitely sounds ahead of it's time for 1967. True, Hendrix was making considerable waves with a similar product, but also with a very distinctive sound that Art just didn't possess. However, strong as it is throughout, If you enjoy electric blues by way of 60's Cream, Peter Green's Fleetwood mac, early Traffic you should have no problem enjoying this.
The album has has some early progressive touches that are nice for late 1967. The hammond organ is there and not as flashy others but a nice mix throughout with fuzzy electrified guitar bolts. The guys do not seem like followers, but they do seem inspired by the Psychedelic Blues going on in UK at the time, which serves well to a great record. ART mix the genres well
and have a unique touch, which is why the '67 MONO UK orig is valued at -- and sells quickly for so much money

The V.I.P.'s were a British R&B musical ensemble formed in Carlisle, Cumberland, (North West England) in late 1963, out of an earlier outfit known as The Ramrods, who had formed in Carlisle in 1960. After the release of their only album, Supernatural Fairy Tales, as Art, the band split up in April 1967!.

The band members were: Mike Harrison (lead vocals) (ex Dino and the Danubes, The Dakotas, The Ramrods); Greg Ridley (bass guitar) (ex Dino and the Danubes, The Dakotas); Frank Kenyon (rhythm guitar) (1963–67) (born 12 October 1945, Carlisle) (ex The Teenages, The Ramrods); Jimmy Henshaw (lead guitar) (1963–67) (born James Henshaw, 20 October 1941, Bothwell, Lanarkshire, Scotland died 1 May 2007, Carlisle) (ex The Ramrods); Keith Emerson (electric organ) (1966–1967); Luther Grosvenor (lead guitar) (1967); Walter Johnstone (drummer) (1963–67) (born 11 March 1943, Carlisle) (ex The Teenages, The Ramrods); and Mike Kellie (drummer) (1967).

With no tangible success, the band became later known as 'Art' (who released one album, Supernatural Fairy Tales) and then as Spooky Tooth. One of the V.I.P.'s singles was produced by Derek Lawrence, whereas all the Island Records single releases were produced by Guy Stevens!!.

Supernatural Fairy Tales is the only LP by Art, a re-named band formerly known as The V.I.P.'s. The album contains mostly band compositions plus a cover of The Young Rascals' "Come on Up" and Buffalo Springfield's "For What It's Worth". All members of Art sooner or later met again in Spooky Tooth!!
