Description
Aston "Familyman" Barrett - Cobra Style b/w Well Pleased 12". Fam's, 1981. Original Jamaican pressing. Vinyl is graded a very conservative VG++ for only the slightest couple of sleeve marks which cannot be felt or heard at all. Plays Near Mint. Writing on both labels. See pics. Comes in plain sleeve.
Heavy and very collectible roots business here. When not writing and recording with Bob Marley and the Wailers, Familyman was releasing his own productions out of Tuff Gong Studio, occasionally with other singers, but mostly focusing on the toughest instrumentals with big horn arrangements. And these are two of the best. Both songs were issued on 45 at the time, but here they are presented in full-length, discomix fashion, complete with dubs. Immaculate production with HEAVY bass. One of my all-time personal favorites.
Musicians on these sessions were Familyman on Bass, Piano & Organ, Hugh Malcolm on Drums, Eric Frater (of Studio One fame) on Guitar, Bongo Herman on Percussion, and the famous horn section of Glen DaCosta, David Madden and Vin Gordon.
Media shipping is $4.00 in the US. Priority is $7.00. International rates vary. More reggae to come in the next few days. Thanks.
