From my own vast private collection gathered over last 45+ years ...these mostly from 1973 - 1978 I had my own Record Store here in Northern California in the 1970's and 80's -and bringing in wonderfully vibrant and amazing Progressive Rock Imports was a top specialty and priority - I was (still am) so nuts about this music that I had 3 different evolving weekly Radio Programs dedicated to it over 20 years - and loved nothing more than turning folks on to these bands and immersing myself and my audience in these exotic sounds. Now it is finally time for me to pass them on - my hardest LPs to part with, some 8 boxes of which I shall be listing throughout this Spring. Many of the leading progenitors of the 1st progressive era, but quite a few more obscure but no less amazing artists of the period. . *Sadly I am NOT FAST at listing and can am lucky to get around 50 up at a time, but they will keep on coming (as I pause between series, to focus on top level packing and immediate shipping) so keep checking back.
This leads me to the subject of "collecting" purchases for combined shipping with further purchases, which some ask for. I am happy to save LPs that are purchased within SAME Auction Series period (7 Days from 1st won auction) IF YOU ASK Me to. I MUST receive payment within 7 days of initial purchase. If you are in another country, wishing to have won/purchased LPs HELD ASIDE longer, for future (within 30 days maximum) combined purchase shipping, your note on your PayPal payment to HOLD items for combined shipping later will guarantee their being saved aside for your further bidding. When you state that you are done, your invoice will be revised to reflect complete, correct shipping discount at that time. If you DO NOT ASK me to hold, item will Ship within 24 hours. CHECK MY FEEDBACK, I am ALWAYS 100% RELIABLE on this. International bidders note that any package over 4 Lbs. (usually 5 to 6 LPs or more) MUST ship by PRIORITY MAIL INTERNATIONAL. US Post Office no longer ships above that weight at the lower, slower 1st Class International rate. . The vinyl here is in uniformly spectacular condition (Most being EX+ to NM) always extremely carefully handled. Some of the covers have minor issues - a small handful have significant issues, but the great majority are in VG+ to EX+ condition. Almost everything offered here is Original 1st Press - Full Details for each given in Description below. .
This auction is for:
ATLANTIDE
Self-Titled album
.
CRYPTO Records ZAL 6423
Original 1976 1st issue LP
.
VINYL is NM-
Superb full gloss vinyl is very close to new ...under magnification in hard bright light, there are a very few faintest sleeve wisps ...so to be strict we'll go with Near Mint minus, though LP plays a BOLD, CLEAR NM throughout. Labels are pristine both sides.
.
COVER is VG+/EX
Super clean, snapping bright cover is very well-preserved with no wear, soil or marks. ...a few minor edge creases can be seen with close inspection and there is a light ring impression (not wear). Drill hole in u.l. corner (they always seem to have this) and lightly bumped corners. Seams and spine are completely intact with small wear at tips of spine. No splits.
STRICT CONSERVATIVE GOLDMINE VISUAL GRADING

Powerfully Dynamic melodic Progressive Psych Rock from France.?
HEAVILY Psyched-out Prog ~including Sitar, Mellotron…

The only vinyl issue ever pressed; never reissued to vinyl.

There were at least 3 well-known serious Prog groups called ATLANTIDE back in the day; one (ore more) from Italy, one from Greece - and this Atlantide. They have been compared to Atoll and many different bands of the day, but I think most of Shylock -though less delicate and more direct, and guitar oriented. This is their one and only album recorded under the ATLANTIDE name ...perhaps they had to give up the name when other "Atlantide"s heard them... It is one serious monster album.

One of Jean-Pierre Massiera's many "phantom groups" who seemingly got together to record one album and then moved on. The key musicians were singer Patrick Attali and guitarist Bernard Torelli, who both also went on to the Human Egg project. Massiera is credited with all the compositions and as producer, and it's often akin to another one of his projects: Visitors, although Atlantide were much more "prog" and not [at all] so weird/experimental. The album's opener is very very Yes, and there are lots of other prog icons that get musically noted/quoted. Be prepared for an adventurous trip!
