LP-Title: Kitaro - Kojiki

Original German pressing from 1990 on GEFFEN RECORDS, 7599-24255-1. The whole “story” of the record is adapted from the original Kojiki, the ancient chronicle about the creation of Japan. Each track is based on one chapter, wich is told one by one in a small text on both sides of the original deluxe inner-sleeve, wich also has all infos about line-up, production etc. Beautiful artwork in the traditional Sumie style by Miyuki Ueda. Amazing audiophile sound-quality.

This album stands out of the whole Kitaro catalogue, not only due to it’s rarity concerning the vinyl-edition, but also musically: it’s more like a soundtrack, blending electronic and acoustic instruments, quiet parts alternate with full orchestra, there are sitar sounds and some of the most impressive tympani you have ever heard, the title-theme is genius, the atmosphere is often mystical plus much more. The production is incredible and challenging for your equipment, a true audiophile masterpiece !

Condition: the album has many quiet parts and it’s hard to find a copy playing in mint- all of the time, even if it looks mint-, wich seems to be a problem of some 90ies pressings. It took me a long time to find a real mint- copy for my own collection. I have listened very carefully to the whole album from the beginning to the end to give you a complete and honest description.

Both sides look perfectly mint- in daylight, only under a real strong light you'll see that the LP has been played at all, here the record still looks mint--. Both sides play perfectly in mint- all of the time. I had ca. 10 copies of this record in the last 15 years, only 2 copies had a mint- playback, my own copy and this one.

The cover has all seams/spine without rub, there's a little burst in the middle of the upper seam for ca. 0,8 inch, it's not on top of this seam but you can see it from the back. The spine & the lower seam are intact. Front & back are fine with just slightest wear, the upper right corner shows minimal creasing, only due to the little burst I lower the overall grading form mint-- down to ex-. The OIS has all seams intact, slightest general wear , overall mint--.

I also offer a vg copy of this record in my current auctions.

Grading & Cleaning:

• the record has been cleaned on my professional HANNL record cleaning machine

• after that I playgraded it (completely or at least in parts) on my Rega Planar 9, Moving Coil cartridge by EINSTEIN:TU-3 Super Fine Line ( please consider that the playback might differ a bit depending on your own equipment )

• I also visually graded the record under a strong light

• only an unplayed record is mint, the highest grading for a used record is mint- ! My basic gradings are: mint – ex – vg.

• cleaned records are stored in a new deluxe innersleeve and they are placed in a new PVC protection-sleeve !
