LP-Title: Kitaro - Kojiki

Original German pressing from 1990 on GEFFEN RECORDS,7599-24255-1. The whole “story” of the record is adapted from the original Kojiki, the ancient chronicle about the creation of Japan. Each track is based on one chapter, wich is told one by one in a small text on both sides of the original deluxe inner-sleeve, wich also has all infos about line-up, production etc. Beautiful artwork in the traditional Sumie style by Miyuki Ueda. Amazing audiophile sound-quality.

Line-up: KITARO/Keyboards & Synths - KOHHACHI ITOH/Electric Bass - YASUO OGATA/Keyboard - HIROSHI ARAKI/Guitar - SYOJI FUJII/Drums - STEVEN KINDLER/Violin - HIDEO FUNAMOTO/Timpani - plus: The Skywalker Strings Orchestra.

This album stands out of the whole Kitaro catalogue, not only due to it’s rarity concerning the vinyl-edition, but also musically: it’s more like a soundtrack, blending electronic and acoustic instruments, quiet parts alternate with full orchestra, there are sitar sounds and some of the most impressive tympani you have ever heard, the title-theme is genius, the atmosphere is often mystical and much more. The production is incredible and challenging for your equipment, a true audiophile masterpiece !

Condition: the album has many quiet parts and it’s hard to find a copy playing in mint- all of the time. I have listened very carefully to the whole album from the beginning to the end to give you a complete and honest description.

Both sides look m--/ex++, only under a strong light you'll see a few tiny superficial sleevelines. You won't see any of these in daylight, where the LP looks mint- . The record plays in mint- nearly all of the time, there are just some very few, very faint singular tics behind the music, you have to concentrate hard to hear them even when played real loud, only between the 2 last tracks there are a few mild tics in a row (ca. 5 ). These imperfections sound less than 10 seconds on the whole album, more than 99 % play in mint- !

The cover has all seams/spine intact with slight rub, front & back are fine with some wear on the upper right corner, there's a detail-photo of this taken from the back, overall ex--/vg++. The OIS has all seams intact and shows just a hint of wear, ex++.

Grading & Cleaning:

• the record has been cleaned on my professional HANNL record cleaning machine

• after that I playgraded it (completely or at least in parts) on my Rega Planar 9, Moving Coil cartridge by EINSTEIN:TU-3 Super Fine Line ( please consider that the playback might differ a bit depending on your own equipment )

• I also visually graded the record under a strong light

• only an unplayed record is mint, the highest grading for a used record is mint- ! My basic gradings are: mint – ex – vg.

• cleaned records are stored in a new deluxe innersleeve and they are placed in a new PVC protection-sleeve !
