Title:   Kitaro - Kojiki

Original German pressing from 1990 on GEFFEN RECORDS,7599-24255-1.The whole “story” of the record is adapted from the original Kojiki,the ancient chronicle about the creation of Japan.Each track is based on one chapter,wich is told one by one in a small text on both sides of the original deluxe inner-sleeve,wich also has all infos about line-up,production etc.Beautiful artwork in the traditional Sumie style by Miyuki Ueda.Amazing audiophile sound-quality.

This album stands out of the whole Kitaro catalogue,not only due to it’s rarity concerning the vinyl-edition,but also musically:it’s more like a soundtrack,blending electronic and acoustic instruments,quiet parts alternate with full orchestra,there are sitar sounds and some of the most impressive tympani you have ever heard,the title-theme is genius,the atmosphere is often mystical and much more.The production is incredible and challenging for your equipment,a true audiophile masterpiece!

Condition:the album has many quiet parts and it’s hard to find a copy playing in mint- all of the time.I have listened very carefully to the whole album from the beginning to the end to give you a complete and honest description.

Side 1 looks and plays in mint- for 99% and in mint--/ex++ for 1%.

Side 2 looks and plays the same,but there is one exception:under a real strong light you’ll see a supertiny short hairline wich you don’t notice at first sight,it causes ca. 30 soft tics behind the music:for ca.20 seconds at the end of the first track(behind a fading wind-like sounding outro),for ca.10 seconds in the dead wax between the first and the second track,and for ca.30 seconds at the beginning of the second track(behind one flickering keyboard-chord intro).This is of course a slight imperfection,but it’s really not that serious,the tics are real low,specially at the beginning and the end they are extremely low,so that in fact you probably won’t notice the complete 30 soft tics but less than that.As I said,the rest of the whole album plays in mint- nearly all of the time with maybe 2 % in mint--/ex++.

The cover has all seams/spine intact without rub,front & back are really beautiful,slight wear on the upper left corner,overall mint--.The OIS has all seams intact and shows just a hint of wear,mint--.

Grading:this used record has been cleaned on a prof. cleaning machine.After that I playgraded it on a Rega Planar 9 with a EINSTEIN TU-3 Super Fine Line moving coil cartridge (please consider that the playback might differ a bit depending on your own equipment).I also visually graded the record under a strong light.I give you a detailed description of both gradings.Only an unplayed record is mint,the highest grading for a used record is mint-! My basic gradings are:mint-ex-vg.As a free service,this cleaned records is stored in a brandnew NAGAOKA deluxe innersleeve and the cover is placed in a brandnew PVC protection-sleeve!
