Original 1979 French release on Harmonia Mundi (FRANCE) (catalog # HM 1015), with gatefold sleeve, booklet.NM copy of a legendary audiophile recording, long held in high regard on the TAS list!
Testimonial about this LP found online: I used to own the original LP of this revelatory recording. It had some of the best and most extensive liner notes I have ever seen: regarding the music on the recording, the way the performers decided to arrange and treat it, and the great variety of instruments that the ancient Greeks used. (The liner notes of the CD reissue are missing nearly all of this material. Thus, unlike the LP the listener of the CD is unable to follow all the nuances of how and why the performers "breathed new life" into this ancient and often fragmentary material.) Sometimes they used silence, sometimes notes, sometimes dissonances to fill in the lacunae; and without the original liner notes, one finds it hard to follow where history ends and creativity begins.Tracks:

CONDITION: Cover VG / Vinyl NM cover has suffered a little bit of water damage -- which is only evident on the inside of the gatefold (a little damage from being stuck together) and the insert (a little wavy) -- the front and back cover and the record itself are all unaffected; vinyl is very near pristine. Graded conservatively using Goldmine standards [G / G+ / VG / VG+ / NM / ]grade only used if record is brand new.

Media Mail delivery time is usually anywhere from 4 to 10 days, but occasionally it takes 2 weeks or even longer to reach the West Coast from here. Please consider this potential delay before you decide to go with Media Mail instead of Priority Mail. Priority Mail is a highly recommended option for all vinyl, it's a lot faster and much more secure -- I double-box (and sometimes triple-box) all LP's shipped via Priority Mail. Cost is reasonable and calculated based on your zip code.
