HERE'S a rare organist on a rare label: JESSE CRAWFORD, "The Poet of the Organ" as he was known - plays two up-to-the-minute popular hits of 1924: "YOU'RE IN KENTUCKY SURE AS YOU'RE BORN" and "DON'T MIND THE RAIN" on the Chicago Theatre Pipe Organ, a mighty instrument indeed.
It's on the fascinating AUTOGRAPH label, produced by Marsh Labs, also of Chicago. The brainchild of Orlando Marsh, this label was THE pioneer in introducing electrical recording to the world in 1923. Not only did they invent microphonic recording, but they hauled their primitive gear to the Chicago Theatre to record Mr. Crawford "In Situ."
This original 1924 un-numbered Chicago AUTOGRAPH record is in still-sturdy V++ condition.

These records come from my private collection, which I have been accumulating since 1967, and now am downsizing! My highest priority in these eBay auctions is to give you the best possible idea of a record’s true condition and aesthetic value. I always post at least four clear images, showing the record fore and aft, a close-up of the label, and the whole disc, warts and all. If my purple prose won’t cut it, the pictures will! Shipping is done with expert care. Your record will brave Media Mail in a stout corregated box, between four sheets of cardboard and a couple of “packers.” I hope you are amused by these descriptions, and by the quality of service being offered.
