This is an ultra rare historic sound documents, the 4th and final boxset of the Avant Garde series released in the late 60's/early 70's by Deutsche Grammophon and containing the cream of experimental / avant-garde / electronic / sound poetry from composers from all over the world. Contrary to the first three boxset, this was a strictly limited edition and a very small pressing, due to the nature of the works contained inside (by far the most experimental of the whole series). Thus impossible to track down, one of the biggest experimental music rarities, which is why it has sold for over 1 000.00$ in the past on ebay.
Volume 4 includes:
RECORD ONE (2561 106): Franco Evangelisti "The Box" (1962-63) for 5 to 7 actors, voice, projector, small orchestra and tape recorder ; Heinz Holliger "The Magical Dancer" (1963-5).
RECORD TWO (2561 107): 2561107: Cornelius Cardew "The Great Learning" (1969) The Scratch Orchestra. Recorded 1971, London.
RECORD THREE (2561 108) : Roman Haubenstock-Ramati "Symphony K" (1967) ; Vinko Globokar "Etude Pour Folklora 2" (1968).
RECORD FOUR (2561 109): Heinz Holliger "Siebengesang" (1966/67) ; Karlheinz Stockhausen "Spiral" (1968).
RECORD FIVE (2561 110): Sylvano Bussotti "Cinque Frammenti all'Italia" (1967/68) ; Nicolaus Huber "Versuch uber Sprache" (1969).
RECORD SIX (2561 111): Leo Kupper, Exequiel Virasoro, Jean-Claude Frison "L'Enclume Des Forces" Artaud poem ; "Electro-poem" (1967) ; "Automatismes Sonores" (1971) electronic composition.
Box is in VG++ condition (there is a scratch on the cover of the box, please see scan for more details), covers of the vinyls are like new.
The 6 LPs are simply perfect and they were clearly rarely played (MINT!).
