Description
Rare original first album pressed in small quantities on the very obscure and tiny promusica label. In Pokora's 2001 book it's given an R3 (3 star) rating, a good indication of it's rarity. Original Argentinian pressing from 1974. The gatefold sleeve and the record are in VG(+) condition.
Excellent debut album by original Ave Rock line-up is a very spacey psychedelic progressive effort from Argentina, featuring the sweet 'Ausencia', the moody 'El absurdo y la melodía', and the great guitars and organ of 'Gritos'; best track might well be long improvised instrumental 'Viva Bélgica'; a very good effort which included Daddy Antogna from Orion's Beethoven; full of shifting rhythms and rich melodies.
The Magic land book reads the following about this classic album: The original Ave Rock line-up included Borda, Sainz, Glavic and drummer Marcelo Saborido. Antogna (who have had collaborated with Orion’s Beethoven) soon replaced Saborido and Caló joined afterwards. The progressive sound of this group -full of rhythm changes and rich melodic treatments- was based on the virtuosity of Caló, Borda and Sainz.
Their first album includes the sweet "Ausencia", the moody "El absurdo y la melodía" and "Gritos", with great guitars and organ. Side B features the powerful "Déjenme seguir" and the long improvised instrumental "Viva Bélgica". It was a very good effort though the LP was released by a small record company with very poor sound. Unable to achieve a deeper symphonic sound, due to the lack of sophisticated equipment, Caló quit and was replaced by Salomone.
