One of the first commercially available direct-to-discs ever released in Japan, this edition features Jun Fukamachi on a Type D Steinway, and does it ever sound “alive.”
To start, side 1 gives us Chopin’s NOCTURNE IN E FLAT, and delivers so mightily you might find yourself endlessly adrift in your listening room. (The piano boards here are stunning in their sounding.)
On side 2, Fukamachi breathes jazzily with JUST DRIVING YOU CRAZY, RAN-MAN, and DON’T SHOOT ME, I’M ONLY THE PIANO PLAYER.
A very rare audiophile find, with stellar, transparent sound, here factory sealed. (Note a punch hole.)
Entirely worthy of the finest vinyl library. Not to be missed.
