For auction here is a beautiful, virtually perfect, copy of Aztec Camera's first single on the independent Glasgow label Postcard. Before the acclaim, hits and turmoil this was the bands debut and like all the initial releases on Postcard it came in a beautifully decorated sleeve and, fittingly, a bonus postcard - this one printed with the lyrics to the title track. The record didn't sell in anything like the number Aztec Camera would shift just a few years later and understandably, the card and it's original sleeve became separated on most copies. Not here though, all are in immaculate condition.
The vinyl appears to be unplayed. The disc is bright, clean and shiny with no scuffs, scratches or even hairlines. It looks like it was pressed just yesterday instead of fully forty years ago now. The out sleeve is vibrant, unfaded, sharp, free from rips, writing or even creases. An amazingly well preserved outer. The labels are immaculate, identical to the way they would have arrived in the shops. The postcard has no bends, discolouring or staining. It too is mint.
This is a great record, an important record for Scots indie and beyond and its hard to imagine a better example will ever be offered for sale.
