Description
For sale is Adrian Belew's Lone Rhino, originally released in 1982 by Island Records as a promotional copy with a gold stamp on the front cover along with a timing sheet for radio play. I bought this record used, professionally cleaned it on my VPI HW-17 machine and immediately put it into a MFSL archival inner sleeve. This preserves the integrity of the vinyl and any insert(s) or original inner sleeve(s) that may have come with the release. In the dead wax between the label and the last track is a etching that says "the last byte". The inner sleeve is Excellent with some wrinkles. The cover is graded as VG+ because of some corner rubs, ring wear and stress cracks along the spine. The spine has some color loss from these rubs and cracks. The vinyl is visually graded as Near Mint Minus because of some faint sleeve marks. I'm play-grading it between Excellent and Near Mint Minus because of occasional low level surface noise, most noticeable during the quietest sections. It's been played only on Audiophile equipment since I bought it and still has a lot of life yet. This would make a great addition to a anyone's collection. This is the best promotional copy of this release that I have ever seen or heard, and you would be hard pressed to find one in this condition. Over the years I've used Dust Bugs, Disc Washers and have finally invested in a professional VPI record cleaning machine. Now that I'm retiring, I'm selling my very esoteric collection. I'm not a professional grader of records, but will use record guides, as well as my personal experiences as a basis of my grading all records. Since grading is subjective, I will be conservative.
