Description

"Permanent Vacation" is the ninth studio album by American rock band Aerosmith, released on August 31, 1987 by Geffen Records. The album marks a turning point in the band's career. It is their first to employ professional songwriters, instead of featuring material solely composed by members of the band. This came at the suggestion of Geffen executive John Koladner. He also pushed the band to work with Bruce Fairbairn, who remained with them for another two albums. It was also the first Aerosmith album to be promoted by heavy music video airplay on MTV. "Rag Doll", "Dude (Looks Like a Lady)" and "Angel" became major hits (all three charted in the Top 20) and helped "Permanent Vacation" become the band's greatest success in a decade. The album features a cover of "i'm Down", a piano-driven Beatles song that appeared as a B-side to their single "Help!" in 1965. This was Aerosmith's second commercially released Beatles cover, after "Come Together". This is the 1987 ORIGINAL Vinyl Pressing on the Geffen label. It is SEALED. Has original Hype Sticker on the front cover. Has notch in upper part of LP. Has slight wear on the bottom right corner. The catalog # on the spine is: GHS 24162. The bar code matrix # is: 0 7599-24162-1 4. Record has been stored in a heavy duty anvil case since 2006. Shipped following business day as soon as payment is received. Media Mail is $6 from Hawaii and will take AT LEAST 3 TO 4 WEEKS due to being shipped by boar, not air from Hawaii. Priority Mail is $14 from Hawaii. International bidders must contact.
