Description

This is the rare and very collectible first LP from the Afghan Whigs on Ultra Suede Records.  The Big Top Halloween LP was limited to only 1000 copies. I worked in college radio in the mid to late 80's and knew the guy who started up the label Ultra Suede ( he was our former music director) and eventually signed the Afghan Whigs. I also have a promo/demo of the Afghan Whigs on cassette tape given to me a year or so before the LP was released featuring a different order for the songs, along with two other bands on the label, Liquid Hippos and Shaun Automatic. The winning bid on the LP will also get the Ultra Suede Records Sampler on cassette tape. The line up of the songs are different than as they appear on the LP but I have no clue if the mixes are different from the LP as I have never listened to it. I wasn't impressed with the tape at the time and didn't think about the band again until I heard they were signed on Sub Pop. There is a little bit of wear on the spine of the record cover from sitting in my record crates for the last 20+ years but the vinyl itself is pristine and as previously stated, never been played.
