Through The Moods

First Communication

Dialogue & Random

In The Silence Of The Mornng Sunrise

Excellent posthumously released live recording.  Originally broadcast on WDR11 radio in February 1974, subsequently bootlegged and finally released properly on this good quality vinyl pressing.  Musically it’s mostly material from their second album , long spaced out tracks wiith fine guitar and a really nice relaxed atmosphere.  If you have the three albums released during their lifespan then this archive release is a perfect addition to your stash.  Below is a review I found on the internet:

Another 1974 stunning live album from the band. Four pieces from the “2nd” album, plus one unreleased. Two guitarists here: GustI Lütjens and Lutz Ulbrich.  The first piece “Through the moods” -the unreleased one-, begins with space sounding synthe and then progressively evolves into a beautiful spacerock tune, dominated by cosmic (SF inspired) keyboards and excellent guitar.  The album’s summit is “First communication” which is transfigured on this live cover. It begins very slowly, as in the studio version. Guitar is amazing; organ is majestic while rhythmic section offers a delicate but powerful base. The climax is reached around 2’00 with a fantastic moment lead by guitar, which reminds of the best Grateful dead, with a more fluent cosmic space quality. Fantastic.
“Dialogue & random” is the minor short experimental piece from 2nd, which serves as a transition between “Through the moods” and “Laïla“.
“Laïla” cover is great too, with its highly emotional guitar solo, followed by its repetitive rhythmic pattern, on which guitar flies very high.
The quiet “In the silence of the morning sunrise” ends the album. It evokes a trip comedown with its bluesy and peaceful overtones.

Condition:

Sleeve:

Very nice.

The front is extremely clean, no tears, no wrting, one very small light crease in the top left corner.  It’s made from very thin card which houses a fairly thick heavy record, this is never a good combination and in this instance it’s caused a slight circular indentation showing where the record sits inside the sleeve, hard to spot at the bottom of the sleeve due to the colourful design but visible at the top if the light is at the right angle, this isn’t ringwear and if care is taken with storage it won’t get any worse.

The rear sleeve is also in very nice condition.  Very clean, no tears, no writing, no creases, no ringwera or any other type of wera or damage.

The top and bottom seams are both unworn.

The spine is unworn and all of the writing is readable, although it’s very small (too small for my aging eyes to be able to read).

Record:

Thick heavy vinyl which is extremely clean and has a nice dark shine.  No visible surface marks, either in normal light or when examined closely under a very harsh lamp.    When played the sound is clean and clear with a deep rich feel, great sound quality for a vintage live recording.  Theer’s no unwanted surface noise at all, no pops, clicks or crackles, no groovewear or distortion, certainly no jumping or sticking just great music sounding as good as you would want it to.

Payment, Postage & Packaging:

Payment by cheque is much preferred from UK buyers but paypal is available, overseas buyers must use paypal.

Postage is extra and costs:

UK                             £4.00

Europe                       £6.00

Rest Of The World       £8.00

All records will be sent housed in PVC sleeves with the records removed from the outer covers.  The packaging will be strong and adequate enough to protect the record well on it’s journey.  Although I haven’t been that active on ebay (mainly cos I hate sitting at a computer) I’ve bought and sold records all over the world for over 30 years now and never had any complaints of records being damaged in transit.

Sorry but I will not post anything to Canada under any circumstances.
