Decca Records Album #A-469
Al Jolson "In Songs He Made Famous"
+ Bonus Album
4-record set • 78 rpm
No clue why, but there were two of these albums, and I am grouping them together.
One is in very good condition, including the jacket, 4 albums and souvenir playbill that was part of the album set.
The Bonus is NOT in good condition and missing 2 records, BUT includes lots of newspaper clippings about Al Jolson's life and passing!
Grading:
There are 2 Sets included in this sale.
Set One:
Jacket has shelf wear, rounded corners, but in good shape for the age.
Albums are in Very Good condition.
Souvenir Booklet is in Very Good condition
Set Two (BONUS!):
Jacket, Albums (missing 2) and Souvenir Booklet are poor condition and not worth describing, BUT there are a lot of newspaper clippings about Jolson in this one! As was a practice of the day, there are several newspaper clippings taped to the back cover and inside, mostly in reference to the singer's death and appearances on Kraft Theatre with Larry Parks, who played Jolson in the movie.
Playlist includes:
April Showers/Swanee, California, Here I Come/Rock-A-Bye Your Baby with a Dixie Melody, You Made Me Love You/My Mammy, Sonny Boy (not in picture)/Ma Blushin' Rosie.
Grading Notice:
To let you know, I am doing a visual check on Jackets, Recordings, and dust covers as applicable.
I am not a professional record grader, and I am being as honest and detailed as I can.
If you feel that my description was incorrect or incomplete, or arrives damaged in transit, please let me know – I am a no-hassle seller.
