Description
Before he found mainstream rock success with The Sensational Alex Harvey Band, Alex Harvey recorded a number of highly acclaimed blues / soul albums in the 1960s, with some only issued in Germany.
This was one – his 1964 debut on Polydor featuring 15 passionately delivered blues songs showcasing the Scot's stupendous voice: at times raw and hollering, at others warm, emotive and tender, as well as his impressive guitar playing.
The vinyl has a few marks and hairlines but nothing that spoils the audio - it plays through well and grades VG++ at least.
The red Polydor labels are clean and undamaged and grade close to Excellent.
The sleeve has sadly seen better days - the top and bottom edges need regluing, there is some damage to the front cover and the spine is extremely worn. So it grades Fair to Good.
The original lined white paper inner sleeve has survived well and grades at least VG+. Rare early Alex Harvey LP - great find for collectors.
