FROM 1970 ON THE UK A&M RECORD LABEL COMES THIS STUNNING LP BY ALEX SANDERS ENTITLED "A WITCH IS BORN" (AMLS 984).
STEREO. FIRST PRESSING. WITHDRAWN VERY SOON AFTER RELEASE
A Witch Is Born was originally released as a vinyl LP in 1970, and it documents the initiation of a witch into the coven of Alex and Maxine Sanders. Bizarrely enough, the record was released by major label A&M, which in itself is an indication of the level of interest in the occult at this time. The initiate in question was Janet Owen, who later married Stewart Farrar, who provided the audio narration and sleeve notes for A Witch Is Born. The Farrars have gone on to write many books on witchcraft, beginning with Stewart Farrar’s What Witches Do, which appeared in 1971.
