Description

An original 1st press of BABIES on UK Warners from 1972. Matrix A2/B3. Labels mention 'Made In the UK' and D NOT mention Warners logo in the perimeter text - all consistent with 1st press. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original 1st issue die-cut embossed cover. So, that's with an embossed baby coin front an rear. In the interior the wallet has a die-cut strap on the right and band photocards on the left. Please note - the band photo cards can be popped out - ALL are present and correct on this example. The billion dollar bank note is present as is the original inner sleeve. So, we're 100% complete and 100% genuine.
Vinyl (Ex/Vg+) In lovely condition and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of light marks per side - nothing troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with just the one deviation. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quite and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. By and large a storming rendition. I can only pick out one issue in 'Sick Things'. I'm get a few crackles in that first section. Nothing that bad - but noticeable briefly. Just think of this track as an OK Vg+...where as the rest of the LP is a clean EXC. Overall - highly recommend.
Cover (Ex-) Really nice condition - I doubt many original examples will be looking this tasty. Really great colour retention and little sign of surface wear. There's no creasing either - just a tiny nick [5mm] at the top of the opening. The interior is in excellent order. Remember on some copies owners will have popped those cards out on the left side years ago. They are intact and in excellent order. The wallet strap on the right is unworn tight and sharp [no splits]. Edge wear is slight for this title and the opening still firm and sharp. The spine is in excellent order with all text fully legible and precious little wear - perhaps a shade of lightest ageing. Overall the cover retains excellent order.
Inner (Vg+) No splits. Some very slight foxing.
Bank Note Insert (Ex) Superb! Almost feels new with correct catalogue number top right and made in england at the foot. Lovein' It.
