For sale is a vinyl copy of Songs Of Innocence And Experience by Allen Ginsberg/William Blake (Verve Forecast, FTS 3083).
This rare first pressing of Allen Ginsberg interpreting William Blake's Songs of Innocence and Experience is unlike anything else from the early 1970s. Even taking into consideration Richard Brautigan's album Listening To Richard Brautigan this album is more over the top and experimental with a-tonal wonderment and genius consideration to minor details as Ginsberg croons his way through Blake's songs.
Side one is Innocence while side 2 is Experience, but you'll lose your innocence while gaining almost no experience while listening to this wonderful collection pressed by Verve in 1970.
Inner gatefold includes lyric sheets and pictures!
This copy is very close to collector's grade condition!
Vinyl is VG+ on the opening tracks of both sides - some inner sleeve markings that are superficial and a couple small hairlines that don't seem to affect play - with some minor hiss and occasional faint pops which fade toward the inner songs. The album has been appreciated but is by no means beat up and would be closer to EX if not for the light but frequent pops at the beginnings of each side.
Jacket is VG+ with very light storage wear, closer to EX because of a complete lack of tears and splits, pretty fantastic condition over all, especially for being nearly 50 years old!
