Description
Here's something EXTREMELY RARE and VERY COOL from one of the greatest rock 'n' roll films ever, "Almost Famous," also known as "Untitled" (which was actually the original working film title that writer, Cameron Crowe preferred). This was a combination movie prop and promotional vehicle; an actual LP cover from the ficticious band in the movie -- Stillwater (not to be confused with the real life 1970s era band with the same name, that hailed from Stillwater, Oklahoma). NOTE: No vinyl was ever pressed for this particular "album" -- there is no vinyl LP here, just the LP jacket/cover (please see both front and back cover photos). Yes, indeed, those creative guys at Vinyl Films actually produced LP jackets representing Stillwater's albums -- there were three of them -- and this one was designed as the first, or rather, the "debut" album: Stillwater - "To Begin With..." Again, please see actual photos. Very professionally done, like something right out of the early 1970s, with authentic A&M Records address, song list and credits on the back. Song titles listed on the back include, "Hour of Need," "Under the Table," "If You Say Nothing," "Change Upon You" (which is called "Chance Upon You" on the vinyl version of the official "Untitled" soundtrack), "In a Fix," "Love Comes and Goes," "Flat On My Back," "Deep In a Flower," "Something In Between" and "Charlie's Blues." Credits: Stillwater consistes of: Jeff Bebe - vocals, Russell Hammond - guitar, Larry Fellows - bass, Ed Vallencourt - drums. Recorded at Hammer Studios, Detroit, Michigan. Recording engineer - Duke Jackson. Photography - Neal Preston (that part is true!). Album design - Eric Rosenberg (likely, also true). Produced by Glyn Johns (good one!). Jacket/cover is Near Mint ...stored very carefully for over 10 years. Enclosed in protective poly outer sleeve. There were very few of these movie prop LP jacket/covers produced. If you are a fan of the movie (and the story, most of which is based on the young life of Cameron Crowe), you will absolutely love this! Or, this would make a VERY COOL GIFT for someone who loves the concept and the film. Would also look great framed in one of those frames made for displaying LPs ("Just make us look cool...")! Please ask questions if you are unclear about this or any of my other auctions. Low opening bid, or use the Buy It Now option to purchase NOW. Serious bidders only, please. Thank you.
