Up for grabs is a Still-Sealed vinyl copy of the brilliant Baroque Primitiva LP by Alvarius B, aka Alan Bishop of Sun City Girls and the Sublime Frequencies record label. Privately pressed in a one-time-only edition of 300 copies, this record was tough to find on the week of its initial release and is now all but impossible to find, especially in a pristine still-sealed state. The lavish packaging is stunning, and the music hauntingly gorgeous from start to finish. Easily a high water mark amongst Bishop's voluminous output, this record is very much of a same piece as the SCG finale, Funeral Mariachi and ends with a jaw-dropping version of Brian Wilson's "God Only Knows" that alone would make this record worthy of owning. I purchased this as my back-up copy for the future, but the future has other things that I need to tend to. You won't find a nicer copy of this because this is as nice as they get.
