Description
I've inherited some very old records, many of which are over 100 years old. I'm learning about them and it's fascinating.
From the collection I have one record that was made by the American Record Company, which I'd never heard of so I looked it up. Here is some information on it.
American Record Company Record label The American Record Company was an American record label that was in business from 1904 to 1906. Wikipedia Founded: 1904 Ceased operations: 1906 Type of business: Privately held company
So this company was only in business for two years, making this record a very rare item.
The record I have is entitled: Northern Bellies Two-Step, played by Regimental Band of the Republic. Catalog No. 031023. It is a RPM 78 and is 10" around.
It has scratches on it but it's not broken anywhere and doesn't have gouges. I'm not a grader of these kinds of things and I don't know if it plays or not, but it is rare and it's very old. Some collector must want it for their collection I would think.
*Record will be securely packaged for safe travels.
