Long out-of-print and limited (this specific box is hand numbered #1,817 of 3,500) box set by Mosaic Records. 10 LPs of Amos Milburn's entire output for Aladdin Records. Also included is a 12"x12" book of extensive liner notes and pictures.

When he died in 1980, he was broke and had been paralyzed on one side after suffering a couple of strokes ten years earlier. They had tried amputating his left leg six months before his death, but it was too late. Songs such as "Bad, Bad Whiskey," "One Scotch, One Bourbon, One Beer" and "Vicious, Vicious Vodka" tell the sorry tale: Amos Milburn had enjoyed himself a little too much during the few years of his extreme popularity, and paid for it during all the years that followed.

What the song titles and the obituaries fail to convey is how incredibly important this pianist and singer was to the development of modern music. You can only learn that by hearing the songs themselves, and the songs have been almost completely unavailable.
