Took a long time time find this one. Paid a lot of money for it.
This item has been one (of a dozen or so) "Holy Grails" for Kate Bush collectors.
It was billed an official EMI promo interview released in Italy in 1985, one that was quickly pulled and became nearly impossible to find.
But ...
Although this is the rare item that was talked about, there are many convincing reasons to believe that it is in fact a manufactured bootleg. Acording to EMI and EMI Italia no such vinyl ever existed.
The interview is the same "open interview" that appears on the Canadian 12" promo but re-recorded (at poorer quality) with a fake(?) Italian interviewer asking the questions.
The quality of the vinyl and the photo transfers are poor. The edges are rough. There are multiple "cracks" and dropouts in the images. This was not professionally manufactured by EMI.
Having said all that ...
It is otherwise a handsome item. The paper insert (and note that it is not a full sleeve) has a wonderful photo It's also in MINT condition. The only condition issue with the vinyl is what a appears to be a long white "scrape" at the bottom of the one side (see the photos). It could be a production flaw. Maybe not. It could affect play. It was already there at the time I acquired it.
So a nice looking - and a VERY RARE item - but one for the avid collector only!
