Description

Giordano: Andrea Chenier. Private pressing from La Scala's 1954-season, mono, 2 LPs. Mario del Monaco, Maria Callas, Aldo Protti, Silvana Zanoli, Maria Amadini, etc. Antonio Votto, conducting. Sound quality is acceptable - definitely not up to modern standards, but not unlistenable. The LPs themselves are in fine shape - they're a little dusty and have a few paper scuffs, but I didn't hear any surface noise. The box has light shelf wear and aging, and two split corners. Great, rare set! The program appears to have a genuine Maria Callas autograph on the inside, which I have scanned. I can't vouch for its authenticity, but I have no reason to cast apsersions on its provenance.
