Description

This is Blue Note BLP 4167 Andrew Hill Point Of Departure, a blue and white microgroove, New York USA label, original mono issue with Van Gelder and the ear squiggle in the dead wax. This truly all-star session features Eric Dolphy, Kenny Dorham, Joe Henderson, Richard David and Tony Williams. The record looks VG(+) but plays better. Except for some minimal noise at the beginning of the bass solos on the first tracks on  side 1 & 2, and an occasional tick in the quiet passages of side 2 track 3, the record plays quietly, with no distortion or skips. The instruments sound brilliant and exciting. The cover has some edge wear and a name in ink on the back, but is otherwise excellent and intact. This is an excellent "play" copy of a rare original issue. The record was cleaned on a VPI 17 and played on a Linn Sondek LP12. This is part of a large Jazz record collection I will be offering in the next few months. Please check our other listings as we discount shipping on multiple orders.
