If you are looking at this, you know what it is! Early on in Andy Warhol's career in art, he worked making record covers (and he must have liked that job as he continued on creating art for record covers well into his superstardom!)This is "record 1" of Margarita Madrigal's Magic Key To Spanish. If I am not misled by my research, this was a mail order only release from 1953 by Doubleday (produced and manufactured by Special Products Division Columbia Records. The sleeve is paper, not cardboard (like most people think of for LP jackets) so all these years later, very few survived in pristine shape. This copy shows much of the wear and tear that a paper cover shows after 60 years but still is a very nice example, and would frame up nice for display! The three edges all are "seam split"; top and left edge are 100% split and the bottom is juuuuust holding on.... From there, there is a good deal of edge wear all around, with some small tears, most of which I captured in the pictures in the listing. On the top edge you can see in pictures 4 & 5 there is a small bit of residue and tearaway....The LP itself is not what you buy this for but is in decent shape... This LP (again, If I am not misled by my research) was only fairly recently discovered by Warhol scholars and only a handful have come to market. As they frequently are offered to collectors as just one record or the other, I am separating my auctions for Record 1 and Record 2 (nudge nudge; see my other auctions) to allow a collector to bid on just the one piece that they need (if they already have one or the other)I do not ship outside of the USA so if you live outside of the USA, please do not bid.
