Description
For sale is a very rare vinyl release of Piano Music of Mendelssohn and Liszt (RCA Victor, LM 9021) by Vladimir Horowitz!
This record is pressed on heavy weight vinyl. A collectors item based solely on Andy Warhol being credited for the hand drawing on the front cover: Warhol provided an early ink sketch (c. 1951) which is precursor to the style he would apply to countless jazz sleeves for Prestige in the following years.
Disc is conservatively VG-/VG with some edge wear including inner sleeve marks, some scratches as well as discoloration (probably just from age, but still noticeable and worth mentioning). There's crackle throughout but side two is more quiet after the first few minutes. Because it's classical music which tends to be quiet the rotational hiss and pops stand out more - the beginning and end of side one has some pops/crackle and the beginning of side 2 has rotational noise for about a minute. The vinyl may just require a good cleaning, but even still there is a few inches along the edge which appear to be heat damage which is permanent.
Jacket is VG++/EX (minor corner wear and very very slight seem splits along spine and bottom edge). Given its age the jacket is in amazing condition!
Shipping is $4 in the U.S.
