This handsome LP from La Voix de son Maitre (CVA 911, French pressing, red/white large dog semi-circle label, stereo, “baguette”-style jacket, dowel spine) features the debut album of the splendid pianist Agustin Anievas in magnificent accounts of Brahms’s Variations on a Theme by Handel Op. 24 and the Variations on a Theme by Paganini Op. 35, made in 1965.
Anievas was a truly gifted pianist whose recorded legacy is richly deserving of systematic re-issue and renewed appreciation. His renditions of Brahms’s Handel and Paganini Variations can withstand the most exalted comparisons and the sound is absolutely first class.
There are authoritative liner notes on the reverse side of the jacket by Philippe Andriot, printed in French only. The memorable cover photo of Anievas was taken by David Farrell.
CONDITION:
The gradations of condition I use are as follows: MINT, Near-Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor.
The condition of the jacket is EXCELLENT. There is minor corner wear, but that is all. There are no seamsplits, bends, owners' markings, or other defects, and whole remains solid, bright, and highly attractive – overall, an excellent collector's copy.
The condition of the dowel spine is EXCELLENT. There is a bit of discoloraiton, but that is all.
The condition of the LP itself is near-MINT. Though the surfaces are not perfectly silent (and thus I have rated it NM vs. MINT) this is a fine copy and playback is superb. If you must have perfect surfaces, then please do not buy this LP. Overall, this rates as a NM collector's copy.

This LP has been carefully cleaned using a VPI cleaning machine. All LPs are provided with a new Nagaoka (or Nagaoka-style) inner sleeve.
