Annette 'Slim' Snell was noted as edging on the cusp of soul stardom in 1977, after having risen up the ranks of the Nashville studio circuit as a backing vocalist and shoulder-butter with the infamous Dial label. Later falling in with them and finally recording some solo material in their Muscle Shoals studio, four tracks were allegedly laid down but only two (which are heard here) survived. Tragically, Snell never got to hear the final fruits of her labour, as she died in the plane crash en route back to Atlanta. While its backstory is haunting, 'I Think I'm Falling In Love' certainly isn't'; both the A and B-sides are jubilant and gay, doing through justice to Snell's talents on the larynx and timeless power behind the mic.
