Description
This rare, collectible 1960 SXL 2212 recording of Ravel’s ‘L’Enfant et Les Sortileges’, conducted by Ernest Ansermet, seems hardly played with virtually no spindle marks, and an outstanding, clear sound, tested with a new Ortofon OM5E cartridge. There are no visible blemishes either....heading towards near Mint.As the label photos show the record is a Decca ‘black/silver’ wide band grooved first edition recording, with 1D/1D matrices and the tell tale ‘Original Recording By’ at 9/12 O’Clock and ‘Made in England’ at 6 O’Clock.
The sleeve condition doesn’t reflect the vinyl condition, with a degree of ringwear on the laminated front cover and some minor corner wearing. The rear scalloped flipback cover also has some ringwear and the bottom scallop has a slight tear, to the right of which the flipback is loose for 3cm. Overall this is a great opportunity to buy a rare recording, which an audiophile collector would be proud of.
Please get in touch with any queries or requests for more photos. Pizza box plus postage; will remove record and inner sleeve from outer sleeve to avoid sleeve splits.
