Antique LP WGBS Miami, FL Radio Station Jingles for BURDINES Dept. Store 78 RPM

$

A real neat item.

This is a very heavy material record / LP from, I guess, the 1950s.

It was recorded at the Miami, FL radio station WGBS AM 710 CBS.

It is 78 RPM and is an assortment of radio advertising jingles for Burdines department stores. This was a fairly large and successful chain in Florida that was eventually swallowed up by Macy's.

I have owned this for many decades and it is time to go.

It is quite used and scratched up and unfortunately, I an unable to tell how it plays currently, as I no longer have a 78 RPM turntable.

Honestly, I would consider it a collectible only, and if it does still play properly, that is a bonus.

The last time that I played it (over 25 years ago), it played pretty decently.

The tracks are short and old fashioned. I do remember how the most common jingle went:

"For Sunshine Fashions, right for fall, for beach or street or social call, remember Burdines has them all, everyone's going to Burdines. Burdines, Burdines, Burdines..."

The disc is a super heavy material and is 12" in diameter.

Great item for any Miami native, current resident, radio memorabilia collector, record collector, friend, dealer or as a gift.
