"Anton Alfred Newcombe by Antons Exorcist"
Ok so here's a weird one. I don't know anything about this record at all. This was found back in 2004 at Maxwell's in Hoboken, NJ. I played a show there while on tour the day after the Brian Jonestown Massacre played. It's an acetate record with hand written labels in red & black markers and pen. It's been sitting in my collection gathering dust for the past 13 years as I just forgot about it and had no information on it.
Side 1 reads "Anton Alfred Newcombe by Antons Exorcist" then list song titles and stamped SIDE A, STEREO 33 1/3.
Side 2 reads "#7 of 7. To Anton, It just happened. Love Jet + Jane + Patrick ..." then lists the song titles. "All songs © 2004 Antons Exorcist except #2 on side A" then again stamped with SIDE B, STEREO 33 1/3.
No etchings or anything in the run out grooves. The music is odd and kind of like those weird experimental Sonic Youth records with sample drum loops and stuff. The weird thing is that it's an acetate. Very weird that something would be pressed on acetate in 2004, let alone something so obscure. The acetate material has yellowed/blued the white paper sleeve that it came in over time. My 10" collection was in front of it so you can actually see a faint 10" record sleeve ghost in the paper. Lol. It has many scuffs on it as we were on tour in a van at the time (amazing I got home, let alone with a record). Plays completely through with no skipping though. Check the photos. I tried to get photos of the scuffs with the lighting (mind the reflections). Feel free to ask any questions you may have and hopefully I'll have answers for you! Lol.
