Description

This treasured collection has been in my possession since I bought the limited edition collector's binder and 12 EPs on their release nearly 20 year ago.

I am selling as I need to make space and am ready for a new collector to have and enjoy this set.

The faux leather binder and Analord 10 disc (black vinyl pressing) were mail ordered by me from Rephlex Records in late 2004.

I bought the other 11 EPs on their release in 2005 from the Rephlex Records website and otherwise at central London record stores.

This collection includes the Analord 10 picture disc reissue.

What is included:

The collection comprises:

  • Faux leather binder - including its empty 12 transparent PVC sleeves
  • Analord 10 - the first instalment of the series that originally came with binder
  • Analord 1
  • Analord 2
  • Analord 3
  • Analord 4
  • Analord 5
  • Analord 6
  • Analord 7
  • Analord 8
  • Analord 9
  • Analord 10 picture - this is the July 2005 picture disc re-release
  • Analord 11
  • 12 original plastic sleeves (8 of which are with barcode stickers: Analords 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 9, 11, 10)
  • 12 new and replacement Big Fudge 12" Paper Premium Master Vinyl Record Inner Sleeves

Condition:

These records have been played infrequently and mostly idle on a shelf in the house for 20 years.

A short time before listing this item, I monitored the playback of all 42 tracks (about 3.5 hours) as well as that of the picture disc. Playback quality is excellent. There is minimal background noise (eg crackle) on some tracks. There are inaudible marks on some record sides.

Most record sides have the appearance of misting in some areas. If it wasn't for this, and the other small issues described here, I would have graded the overall condition of this collection as 'Excellent'.

It's tricky to photograph black vinyl so I have provided two sets of photos of all record sides to show condition and detail. The first set of photos are taken in regular daylight and so there is a lot of glare. To tackle the glare, the second set of photos were taken in a more diffused light and with a long-exposure and this has inevitably made the centre labels in the middle of the records appear faded when they are in fact fine (see first set of photos), as well as highlighted some dust.

If you would like to see the original photos (eBay compressed these as I uploaded them) please get in touch as I have them ready in an online folder to share. The second set of (non-glare) photos are each about 70MB in size (resolution is 18-megapixels, 18MP, 6,000 x 3,000 pixels).

As the records have been played, most centre labels have spindle marks but are otherwise in excellent condition.

The binder has a few marks on the reverse (see relevant photo).

Storage:

Initially each vinyl disc was kept in the plastic sleeve it was originally sold in and together inserted into a collectors' binder sleeve - essentially each vinyl disc was double sleeved. After learning that the PVC sleeves can release an off-gassing of plasticisers, giving the surface of the record a misty appearance, I transferred each disc to a Big Fudge 12" Paper Premium Master Vinyl Record Inner Sleeve. These 'archival quality', 'non scratching', 'acid free' replacement sleeves are included. Photo #23 shows the original sleeves and an example new sleeve.
