THE IVEYS/JAMES TAYLOR/JACKIE LOMAX & MARY HOPKIN
1968 APPLE/WALL'S ICE CREAM PROMOTIONAL EP
This rare 1968 Apple EP was the 1st & last EP that Apple released.
It was available only via Mail Order in association with 'Wall's Ice-Cream' in the UK.
It uses the familiar dark green Apple labels with the catalgue number: CT. 1
A 'KJT' tax/price code is embossed in the centre of the side 2 label.
It contains the following tracks:
1. The Ivey (Badfinger) - 'Storm In A Teacup'
2. James Taylor - 'Something's Wrong'
3. Jackie Lomax - 'Little Yellow Pill'
4. 'Mary Hopkin - 'Pebble And The Man'.
The disc is housed in its original front laminated, bi-flipback picture cover.
Matrix numbers: CT 1A-2 & CT 1B-2
Stamper numbers: 1/A & 1/P
CONDITION
Disc
Labels: NEAR MINT
A pristine set with just what appears to be a single tiny spindle trails to each centre hole.
Visual: EXCELLENT
Extremely clean, bright & glossy surfaces which display just a few insignificant hairlines in strong daylight but no scuffs or other major signs of wear. Careful inspection in strong daylight reveals just a few more light wispy marks consistant with sleeve removal but again nothing serious: Both sides lie 100% flat on the turntable with no signs of dishing or warping.
Play: EXCELLENT
This copy has barely if ever been played and all tracks play without any groovewear distortion or any other major audible wear. My careful playcheck at volume detected a touch of light background & a few faint ticks between tracks and in some quieter spots but no further significant or major audible distractions.
Cover
EXCELLENT
A superb example which is overall clean & flat with just a touch of light storagewear but no significant or major faults througout. The front panel laminate is clean & gloss with just the unavoidable faint inner ring impression but no creasing or 'thumbnails'. All corners are clean & sharp and both opening edges appear untouched. The rear panel is pristine with no marks, writing or missing paper. All flipbacks & both seams are fully intact & totally undamaged.
- Strict & grading under strong daylight & directly beneath a halogen desk lamp to UK 'RECORD COLLECTOR' standards.
- I carefully play every record I sell on a $5,000 Rega P9 turntable at volume and list all visual and audible faults.
- All the photos in this listing have been taken by myself and are of the actual items for sale.
- All records are professionally & securely in custom-made record mailing boxes with the disc removed from the cover.
