States 164. Look me straight in the eye (2:23) / I stayed away too long (2:13). I doubt that this is a 1957 pressing....there is a "65" etched in the dead wax along with the matrix #. On the other hand, the sound is too crisp for a repro. Two great sides, one fast, one slow featuring Arbee's stinging guitar supported by the Lefty Bates band. There is a small warp in the record which does not affect play at 1.5 grams. Labels clean, vinyl plays VG+. No reserve.
(another source tells me that the lead guitarist is neither Arbee nor Lefty, but Earl Hooker. This was one of the last issues from States before its demise.)
