Description
Argenta & The LSO –
Chabrier ESPANA –
London ffrr CS-6006 of SXL-2020 –
UK Pressing -
TAS
Great copy of Ataulfo Argenta’s great outing with the LSO. It features his read of Chabrier ESPANA, long recognized on the TAS list as one of the finest classical recordings ever captured.
Note, too, other great selections here are CAPRICCIO ESPAGNOL by Rimsky-Korsakov and SPANISH DANCES by Moszkowski.
An ffrr release in very fine shape: Cover has mild shelf and a seam split top and bottom of about 2 inches now repaired neatly with tape. UK pressing inside is near mint.
A remarkable record, not at all easy to find, entirely worthy of the finest vinyl library. (The ffrr of this versus the ffss is a bit more wideband in the listening, from improvements made in the ffrr cutting heads.)
For other fine records, TAS picks and hard-to-finds, please see my complete list of offerings here on eBay.
Shipping and handling is $5 for up to 5 LPs shipped within the States. Internationally, $15 via airmail for the first LP, $4 each thereafter. (Canada is half that.) Boxes over 4 lbs., add another $6, because First Class is no longer available at that weight, just Priority Mail. Note, too, boxed sets of LPs require more postage.
