Description
Original 1965 Blue Star TM‑1000 pressing of Arin Demain – Silent Treatment, one of the most electrifying and fiercely coveted records in the entire Northern Soul canon. Long regarded as a top‑tier rarity, this disc has achieved near‑mythic status among deep collectors due to its explosive dance‑floor energy, raw vocal delivery, and the unmistakable punch of its Blue Star production. The record’s scarcity is legendary — authentic first‑issue copies almost never surface, and when they do, they command extraordinary attention and premium hammer prices.
“Silent Treatment” embodies everything that defines the Northern Soul sound: a relentless beat built for the all‑nighters, a driving arrangement that grabs dancers from the first bar, and a vocal performance that cuts straight through the room. Its reputation has grown steadily over decades, fueled by its appearance on elite want‑lists, its rotation at top UK venues, and its status as one of the most desirable U.S. indie‑label soul 45s of the mid‑1960s.
This is the true original Blue Star promo, not the later reissue — the exact pressing that collectors chase. For serious Northern Soul buyers, this title represents one of the crown jewels of American soul 45 collecting, a record that sits comfortably alongside the most celebrated rarities of the scene. A cornerstone piece for any advanced collection and an undeniable monster on the floor.
