Description
This is an auction for the VERY RARE Art Blakey & the Jazz Messengers - ORIGINAL BLUE NOTE BLP-4003 with 43 West 61st Street New York 23 on back cover, 47 West 63rd NYC on the deep groove DG labels. Engineered by Rudy Van Gelder - 'RVG' stamp and an 'ear' in trailoff both sides.
Record is visually graded as Mint- with just a few spindle marks and it PLAY GRADES Mint- with just a few short, light background crackles at the beginning of each side. Sound quality is superb, Rudy Van Gelder at his best recording the genius of Blakey at his best. Laminated front cover is VG++ only due to a hint of ring wear, slight wear at the right side corner tips, and a few small, light stains on back with light general wear.
One of several hard to find 60s & 70s Jazz pressings I'll be listing on Ebay this week.
