           ART BLAKEY     ORGY IN RHYTHM Volume One     Blue Note BLP 1554
Up for auction is a NY U.S. Mono Blue Note (circa 1963) of Art Blakey's, "Orgy In Rhythm Vol. 1". Great percussion based lp featuring no less than six percussionists. Also featuring great flute work from a young Herbie Mann. 
DEAD WAX INFO:  BNLP-1554-A etched on Side 1 run-out and BNLP-1554-B etched on Side 2 run-out. Both Sides have the "'P" or ear mark , 9M and RVG all etched into the dead wax. Reissue NY Blue Note Mono Plastylite pressing, circa 1963.    VINYL VISUAL: VG and better with some minor marking, storage mottling and slight loss of gloss. Labels show VERY LITTLE play. Deep groove Side 2 only. Could use a cleaning, which may elevate the grading a touch. 
VINYL PLAY GRADE: VG+ overall with very little noise and GREAT fidelity (the result of having been scarcely played). Some ticking here and there as a result of age and handling. A GREAT player with that bright, LOUD Blue Note Plastylite sound.   COVER VISUAL: VG+ on this nice OG FRAME (New York 23) cover. Two bent corners and very light wear.

Play grade is done on a Thorens TD 165 through Yamaha amplification and JBL reference headphones (treble set high so there will be no surprises when you get the item). 
ALL ITEMS WILL BE SHIPPED WITH PROPER MAILERS AND EXTRA PADDING, PARTICULARLY AT THE CORNERS. I HAVE MADE FAR TOO MANY PURCHASES ON EBAY WHERE THE ITEM HAS ARRIVED WITH DINGED CORNERS DUE TO INADEQUATE PACKAGING MATERIAL. BY USING FOLDED BUBBLE WRAP IN ALL FOUR CORNERS, YOU CAN BE ASSURED OF AN ITEM WITHOUT DINGED CORNERS (OR DAMAGE OF ANY KIND FOR THAT MATTER).             Non-tracked shipping throughout the U.S.A will be $13 CANADIAN per item, as will tracked shipping within Canada. Tracked shipping to the U.S.A. will be $16 CANADIAN for items under 500g, and slightly more for items over 500g. Most single sleeve items can be shipped as under 500g. Gatefolds and multi-sets will be over 500g. 
Being a reasonable person, I will be absorbing ALL of the shipping material cost, and some of the actual postage cost.

IF ANYONE OUTSIDE OF NORTH AMERICA IS CRAZY INTERESTED IN ANY ITEM, I WILL QUOTE SHIPPING ON REQUEST.
