Description

This is the Van Gelder-stamped mono “P”-pressing of Art Blakey “The Freedom Rider” on the New York USA labels of Blue Note BLP 4156.  Other then a light inaudible haze on Side 1, the playing surface is in near-new condition, with a beautiful luster; perhaps played once, if at all.  The laminated New York 23 cover is in virtually new condition – bright and clean throughout – with sharp corners and unworn seams; ½” bump at the upper left corner; “Review Copy” stamped at the top of the back slick.  Blue Note inner sleeve is included.  Personnel include Lee Morgan, Wayne Shorter, Bobby Timmons, and Jymie Merritt.  $150.00.
