Description
Unpacking a mis-labeled box this week gave me another lost and found moment. Inside were about a dozen albums from DIW. If you don’t know the label, DIW Records made its mark as a Japanese record label which specialized in, what some might call, ‘hard-core jazz’. Gentler souls likely preferred avant-garde jazz. The label’s name is said to have evolved from "Discs in the World”.
One of the DIW recordings I found this week is Art Ensemble of Chicago’s “Complete Live In Japan, April 22, 1984”. This is a two-record set. Here are some details:

MISC: The package: A loose plastic wrapper—NOT shrink-wrap—protects the cardboard sleeve. Each vinyl record has its own plastic sleeve. There is also a 12” x 12” (approximate) insert with more information, mostly in Japanese.
TRACKS/SIDES: NOTE: The insert displays the two discs as “Side A”, “Side B”, “Side C”, “Side D”. The actual record labels for both discs display “Side A” and “Side B”.
