Art Neville – ‘My Babe / ‘My Dear, Dearest, Darling’ – Cinderella 1400 (US)
A very rare record, this, Art Neville’s second single – the first was ‘Lover of Love’ – on Irving Smith’s Cinderella label. Absolutely superb New Orleans version of the classic ‘My Babe’ coupled with the same exquisite flipside as on the follow-up, ‘Little Liza Jane’ (Cinderella 1601), i.e., ‘My Dear, Dearest, Darling.’
Condition: VG+ or thereabouts; essentially as good as these primitive 45s get, The record has a slight warp, but it does not affect play (please listen to the clips). Basically clean labels though with traces of wear and a little flaking round the centre hole (please see scans).
