Description

  • Hard to find 1958 deep groove Tampa LP “The Marty Paich Quartet” (Tampa TP 28) featuring Art Pepper on saxophone. Also performing are Buddy Clark (bass), Frank Capp (drums) and, of course, Marty Paich on piano.
  • The tracklist is: What’s Right For You/You And The Night And The Music/Sidewinder/Abstract Art/Over The Rainbow/All The Things You Are/Pitfall/Melancholy Madeline/Marty’s Blues.
  • This LP, originally released in 1957 on red vinyl, is the 1958 second issue on black vinyl.
  • The majority of the LP retains most of the original gloss with some sleeve scuffs and light marks and for the most part plays with some surface noise common to Tampa pressings. Please note, however, there are several scratches and marks that are audible (only one is audible for any length of time (track 1, side 2). The graphics and printing on the front and back of the cover are clear, however, the seams and the spine show damage (with some tears into the cover slicks) and have been repaired and reinforced with clear tape. The labels show some spindle marks.
  • This is a rare LP in any condition but I suggest that bidders consider this a fill-in until you find a better (and of course much more expensive) copy.
  • NOTE: I normally will accept returns of items with no questions asked. In this case, however, since I have been up front regarding condition, I will not accept a return of this LP. Please do not bid if this is not acceptable to you.
  • NO reserve. I ship worldwide and will combine winning bids to save on postage (check out my other items!).
  • In the US, the winning bidder pays choice of media mail ($4.00) or priority shipping (based on ZIP code). Airmail shipping and handling to Canada is $8.00. All other locations outside the US are $15.00. Good luck!
