Description
This is an early deep-groove copy of Art Pepper “Meets the Rhythm Section” on Contemporary C3532. The record had been sealed in the original loose plastic bag, but had to be opened to check its condition: the record is mint, unplayed. The full-bleed photo cover has a frame seam along the top edge and a back slick with red titling and trim; the condition would be new, expect for a light discoloration at the lower right corner of the back (where the plastic bag was open) and a slight ding at the upper and lower corners, at the opening. Original pre-stereo Contemporary pressing can be identified by the “C” prefix. When stereo recordings were introduced, Contemporary changed the prefix to an “M” for mono and “S” for stereo. Personnel include Red Garland, Paul Chambers, and Philly Joe Jones. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------CHECK OUT the new book: "Blue Note Records, A Guide for Identifying Original Pressings" by Frederick Cohen.
