I do not know how or why this show was recorded. Why in New Orleans I wonder? Might be due to the "Talent Scout" feature Godfrey ran often. This show featured the 'talent scout' ARNOLD KOCH, who introduces the Jazz Band, "Salt City Five" (Syracuse, NY was known as the Salt City before 1900. The band's leader, Jack Maheu hailed from Syracuse). Someone at a TV or Radio station in New Orleans may have known about the up and coming band, and initiated the recording. Remember, in those days the Arthur Godfrey TV show was filmed live, and simulcast on the CBS radio network.

The historical nature of this recording is unique in my experience. Never seen anything like this.

There is no "TRACK LISTING" for this LP.

Info on the label is the only thing to work with. 

The song performed by the Salt City Five is "That's A Plenty"

▬ No SPEED indication on the label . . . but it is confirmed this record is to be played at 78 RPM ▬

CONDITION:

Vinyl is GOOD+ ... Really nice except for the scratches seen in the photos - which are few, and not deep. No splits, cracks. Some shelf dust clings - all purchased used records should be cleaned once before playing.
NO Cardboard Cover or 'Jacket' 
Sleeve seems original - craft paper - in rather poor condition.  This will be shipping in a generic white new aftermarket sleeve + the old sleeve will be included. (see photos)
PROVENANCE: This LP was among a lot of vinyl acquired from a retired big band musician's archive. This musician was active on the north shore of Boston, playing big band arrangements in the 60's and 70's.  Search my other listings for some other odd / old recordings and other music items from this same source.
